Kyle Echarri is blessed with a soothing voice and charm reminiscent of a young Justin Bieber.
He’s a modern-day crooner who can make girls swoon and sweep them off their feet.
The young singer from Cebu started his music career only a year ago when he joined the popular singing contest “The Voice Kids.” Kyle finished sixth place but landed a recording contract. He recently launched his debut album, “It’s Me, Kyle.”
Singing in the bathroom
“When I was 3 years old, I remember singing in the bathroom,” he recounts.
Initially self-taught, Kyle has since taken formal voice lessons to further improve his craft.
One valuable music mentor is Sarah Geromino, his coach in “The Voice Kids.” In fact, the pop princess gave him a piece of advice that he took to heart. “She told me to be confident but always keep my feet on the ground,” he says.
It’s the same advice he gives to aspiring singers today. “Also, always practice and be very passionate about what you do,” he adds.
Aside from Sarah, Kyle also names Canadian superstar Justin Bieber and “Pinoy Dream Academy” Second Star Dreamer Bugoy Drilon as his musical influences. “Kuya Bugoy’s voice is very beautiful. It’s unique and he can sing many genres,” Kyle points out.
Interests
While Kyle’s life is far from normal, his interests are like any typical 13-year-old. “Video games, for sure. Every day! I love sports games and action games,” says this fan of Grand Theft Auto.
In the coming months, the singer looks forward to a packed schedule of mall tours and gigs to promote his new album.
“It’s Me, Kyle” is available at all Astroplus and Astrovision stores; listen to it online through Spotify and Apple Music.
