Crystal Jade Dining-In offers set menus consisting of “lucky dishes” in time for the Year of the Fire Rooster on Jan. 27.
Some of the dishes include the Prosperity Toss Salad or Yu Sheng that consists of lucky ingredients like shredded carrots, cucumbers, pickles, peanuts, salmon, oil and plum sauce. The salad is then tossed while repeating a lucky chant. The staff is trained to explain each ingredient and their corresponding symbol.
Crystal Jade’s Treasure Pot is chockfull of decadent ingredients like braised pork, abalone, sea cucumber, scallops, prawns and duck. A special item is the Pan-fried Kurobuta pork with teriyaki sauce that will only be available until Feb. 28.
The restaurant’s Flourishing Fortune glutinous rice cake is a fish-shaped tikoy with edible gold leaf. Prices for the set menus range from P9,000 for six to P20,000 for 10 diners although the dishes are also available a la carte.

Seminar on pizza and shawarma making
The Golden Treasure Skills and Program will conduct a one-day seminar on how to make different kinds of pizza and shawarma. Venue is the UP Integrated School Building, University of the Philippines Diliman, on Jan. 21, Saturday , from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Aside from lessons on pizza and shawarma making, participants will get tips on safety and sanitation as well as ingredients and costing, which will be helpful for those who want to venture into the pizza and shawarma business.
They will receive a certificate of training right after the seminar. There will be food sampling of the finished products, lunch and snacks will be served, and all handouts and raw materials will be provided.
