A large number of Miss Universe candidates arrived in the Philippines on Thursday flashing their best smiles and with hopes to snare 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach’s crown.

Besides their grins, however, two of the arriving beauty queens, Miss Costa Rica Carolina Duran and Miss Nicaragua Marina Jacoby, were pictured together at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport doing the signature Duterte pose by raising their fists.

In addition, Duran posted a photo with airport security personnel with the caption, “Con excelente compañía en Filipinas (With excellent company in the Philippines!)!”

Aside from Miss Nicaragua and Miss Costa Rica, Miss USA Deshauna Barber, Miss Canada Siera Bearchell and Miss British Virgin Islands Erika Creque arrived in the country on Thursday.

Most of the title contenders will arrive in Manila on Friday as pre-coronation activities will commence on Saturday, Jan. 14, in Boracay.
