Popularly known as the world’s top-selling American whiskey, Jack Daniel’s has endeared itself to its fans over the years for its unique Tennessee whiskey. But those fans may soon encounter their Jack Daniel’s on their breakfast tables as well, as the alcohol company is now looking to also serve coffee.
In partnership with World Coffee, the 150-year-old distillery recently released the ‘Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Coffee’, a product made from 100 percent Arabica coffee but infused with their patented JD’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey.
“We use the best tasting and highest quality coffees in the world and now add to that the authentic taste and aroma of Jack Daniel’s,” Charlie Newman, president and owner of World of Coffee, described in an official release the two beverages’ unlikely pairing.
“We take a lot of care and pride in the coffee products we craft and Jack Daniel’s Coffee is no exception,” the executive added.
However, their new product won’t cater for those looking for an early morning alcohol buzz, as the ground coffee will not be alcoholic and only comes in a variety of regular or decaffeinated options.
The JD brand, meanwhile, clarified that their latest coffee-whisky blend is a new product and should not be mixed up with a similar concoction they came up with six years ago.
“There was a line of Jack Daniel’s Coffees that incorporated Jack Daniel’s flavoring into the grounds, rather than actual Tennessee whiskey. That product was discontinued in 2011,” a Jack Daniel’s spokesperson confirmed to The Huffington Post.
The unique tasting brew is available online on the company’s website or in store at their Lynchburg Hardware and General Store branch in Tennessee, and will be rolled out nationwide in the U.S. in the coming months.
Each order is served in an 8.8-ounce tin and will reportedly retail at $21.95 (P1,095), while smaller 1.5-ounce gift bags will go for $6.95 (P347). Khristian Ibarrola
