Former Miss Universe titleholders Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico and Riyo Mori of Japan arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday to watch the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Manila next week.
Torres, who was crowned Miss Universe in 1993, posted a short video clip of her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Instagram with the caption: “Na-miss ko kayo! (I missed you)”
It was Torres who crowned Sushmita Sen of India when the international beauty tilt was held in Manila in 1994. Sen has also confirmed that she will be returning to the country as judge in the 65th Miss Universe pageant.
Torres, the former girlfriend of actor Aga Mulach, started a showbiz career in the Philippines following her reign as Miss Universe, which included hosting and acting roles in movies and television.
Mori, Miss Universe 2007, also posted a photo of her arrival in the country on Instagram. “We’re here! Thank you for your warm welcome,” she said.
The Japanese beauty also posted a photo of her holding a framed photograph of outgoing Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
“All you beautiful girls….are you ready?!” Mori wrote in the caption.
The Miss Universe coronation event will be held on Jan. 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. YG
