Miss Universe candidates customize Converse sneakers for auction

At least 19 candidates from the 2016 Miss Universe competition lent their time and creativity to produce customized Converse sneakers to be auctioned for the Positive Action Foundation.
Supported by the Miss Universe Organization, Positive Action Foundation is devoted to helping individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families, particularly those displaced from employment due to HIV.
The candidates who participated are Luisa Baptista (Angola), Stephanie Goldof (Belgium), Rebecca Rath (Belize), Raissa Santana (Brazil), Violina Ancheva (Bulgaria), Monyque Brooks (Cayman Islands), Carolina Duran (Costa Rica), Johanna Acs (Germany), Virginia Argueta (Guatemala), Hildur Maria (Iceland), Kristal Silva (Mexico), Zoey Ivory (Netherlands), Marina Jacoby (Nicaragua), Keity Drenan (Panama), Andrea Melgarejo (Paraguay), Maxine Medina (Philippines), Yuliana Korolkova (Russia), Chalita Suansane (Thailand) and Magdalena Cohendent (Uruguay).
Beauty pageant patrons and Chucks collectors will get a chance to own a personalized pair by one of the participating candidates through a silent bid auction. Bidders may submit their bids, names and contact details to the information officer in the mall exhibit of the shoes or through a private message at the Converse Facebook page. Starting bid for all pairs is at US$50.
