Miss Colombia 2015 has moved on: ‘Spread love, not hate’

Ariadna Gutierrez, who was runner-up to Miss Universe 2016 Pia Wurtzbach, said she was proud of her successor Andrea Tovar, who finished second runner-up on Monday (Manila time).

In her Instagram post, Gutierrez professed her pride for her country’s representative.

“We are proud of you, Colombia,” she wrote in Spanish.

Orgullosos de ti!!!!!! COLOMBIA❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🇨🇴

In another post, she urged supporters of their respective candidates to “spread love not hate,” which she demonstrated by posting a photo of her hugging Wurtzbach in what would have to be one of the most controversial moments in Miss Universe history.

Hoy es el día! Today is the day! SPREAD LOVE NOT HATE ❤🙏🏼 #MissUniverse #GoodLuckGirls #VamosColombia 💃🏽🎊 A photo posted by Ariadna Gutierrez (@gutierrezary) on

Gutierrez’s stint as a “would-have-been” Miss Universe has to go down in the pageant’s history as one of the most “painful” experiences of a candidate, being proclaimed the winner and then uncrowned due to the host’s mistake.

The 23-year-old beauty queen further showed the world that she has totally moved on from the embarrassment she suffered when she posted on Instagram a photo of her being interviewed by Steve Havey captioned, “I’m watching you!” Harvey again hosted this year’s pageant.

I’m watching you! 👀Te estoy viendoo😜#MissUniverse #VamosColombia @iamsteveharveytv
