Korean contemporary artist Han Ho will come to Manila for an Artist Talk on Feb. 9, 3 p.m., at the Korean Cultural Center (KCC).

 

He will discuss the process behind his artworks and how it bridges the Korean traditional art and modern technology.

 

Han Ho, a Paris 8 Vincennes University graduate, is known for integrating light in his artworks. He employs projected light in his art installations and uses different materials to choreograph patterns of reflected light.

 

He was invited to be Korea’s representative in the 56th Venice Biennale’s special exhibition, “Personal Structures,” and participated in various international exhibitions such as Palais de Tokyo in Paris, International Paper Art Biennale in Bulgaria, International Art Photo Festival Pingyao in China.

 

Alongside with the Artist Talk, Han Ho will also open the art exhibition “Han Ho: Eternal Light” at the KCC Exhibit Hall.

 

The exhibition will run until April 28. Admission for the Artist Talk and exhibition is free.

English workshop 

 

A workshop on improving one’s proficiency in written English for adults is being organized by Brown Movement for Cultural Advancement, Inc. The workshop will start on Feb. 11.

 

The workshop shall tackle the qualities of good, effective writing, with corresponding exercises; how to write features, interviews and reports as well as how to improve one’s vocabulary, how to use appropriate idioms, expressions.

 

The workshop shall be held for eight sessions, three hours per session at Windsor Tower, 163 Legaspi St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.

 

The facilitator for the workshop is one of the country’s seasoned writers and book authors. Classes are kept small for a more personalized, individualized mentoring.
