Comic relief from Duterte’s drug war

The teaser blurb of “Extra Judicial Kidding” drips with acerbic humor: “Get high on laughter with three top Pinoy comedy artists teaming up for the first time in one killer show!”

Its brilliant title alone sets the tone, and the stars of the show—Jon Santos, Kakai Bautista and Rex Navarrete—complete the exciting premise of this Valentine treat.

“Extra Judicial Kidding” is on Feb. 15, 8 p.m., at Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.

Art exhibit at Robinsons

Artists Nemesio “Nemi” Miranda, Romeo “Romi” Mananquil and August Santiago Jr. showcase 30 paintings and sculptures in an exhibit titled “Figura Filipina,” opening on Feb. 24, 5 p.m., at the Activity Area, 1/L Robinsons Galleria, Edsa corner Ortigas Ave.

“Figura Filipina” opens in time for the annual celebration of the People Power Revolution. Miranda, Mananquil and Santiago specifically chose Robinsons Galleria as the venue for their exhibition because it was where the people massed to oust a dictator.

The exhibit aims to celebrate the body, soul and essence of the Filipino, radiant in times of calm and quietude, defiant in the face of hardships and subjugation.

“Figura Filipina” is on view until March 4. Call 3971888.
