Two former Filipina beauty queens strutted on the glitzy runway of the recently concluded New York Fashion Week 2017.
Miss Universe 2012 runner-up Janine Tugonon and Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann, who are both signed under MSA Models, participated in one of New York’s most sophisticated fashion events.
Tugonon sashayed down the runway for Malan Breton’s Fall-Winter ’17 and Denibi Fashion House’s line, while Weigmann, a Filipina-German who briefly co-hosted the noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” wore one of Ane Amour’s “Daughters of Artemis” collections.
Besides Tugonon and Weigmann, some striking faces who had competed in previous Miss Universe pageants graced the show. Miss Universe USA Deshauna Barber and current titleholder Iris Mittenaere modeled on the ramp wearing Sherie Hill’s masterpieces, while Miss Universe 2015 runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez was donned in one of Michael Costello’s lavish wardrobe.
