The Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies (CCWLS) of University of Santo Tomas (UST), with The Varsitarian, the official student publication of UST, will hold the book forum and writers session, “Troya at Eksena,” on Feb. 28, 3-5 p.m., at Tanghalang Teresita Quirino, Benavides building, UST campus, Manila.
The event, which is part of the UST Authors Series, caps National Arts Month. Featured are the latest publications of two of the CCWLS’ resident fellows: Joselito D. de los Reyes’ “Troya: 12 Kuwento” (Visprint) and Chuckberry J. Pascual’s “Pagpasok sa Eksena: Ang Sinehan sa Panitikan at Pag-aaral ng Piling Sinehan sa Recto” (UP Press).
The biannual UST Authors Series serves as an avenue for CCWLS resident fellows to launch their latest books. It is also one of the CCWLS’s contributions in fostering a robust writing culture in the university.
De los Reyes is a National Book Award-winning essayist. He teaches creative writing, research and popular cuture at UST. He is also the 2013 Makata ng Taon of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.
Apart from writing criticism, Pascual is also a fictionist and playwright. He teaches literature and the humanities at UST Faculty of Arts and Letters.
UST Publishing House deputy director and UST CCWLS resident fellow Ailil Alvarez serves as overall coordinator.
