International touring productions of “West Side Story” and “The Sound of Music” are set to play in Manila this year—both to be staged at The Theatre at Solaire.

“West Side Story” opens Aug. 10; “The Sound of Music,” Sept. 27.

As a treat to early birds, those who register on the TicketWorld ticket waitlist get 10-percent off and first dibs on seats during the week-long pre-sale beginning March 6. A special 20-percent off will be available to those who purchase tickets for both shows.

“The Sound of Music” will feature 18 children from Manila (six local children cast in three rosters), who will be selected from an open audition call. (Follow the Concertus Manila Facebook page for details.)

The new production of “West Side Story” touring Manila showcases an American cast, many direct from Broadway. Musical supervisor is the renowned Donald Chan, who studied under composer Leonard Bernstein himself, and who leads a live orchestra of 20 musicians.
