On March 2, Jensen and The Flips released the music video of its first single, “BDYTLK,” a cut from its forthcoming second album, at Felipe & Sons, Bonifacio Global City.
Directed by Mike Sandejas, the music video features the contestants of the upcoming season of Philippines’ Next Top Model dancing and lip syncing the song, until they are eventually joined by the members of the band. “Since they’re models, they let their bodies to the talking,” said band frontman Jensen Gomez on the concept of the music video.
Prior to the evening’s big reveal, guests were treated to performances by Reese Lansangan, Alas Medya, and Vapors. Early birds enjoyed free haircuts courtesy of Felipe & Sons before the event.
Jensen and the Flips also performed after its music video’s premiere. Sporting dapper custom suits care of Felipe & Sons, the band played a set that included crowd favorites “Dangerous and Slow,” as well as its new single.
Second album details
Asked to comment on its much-awaited sophomore album after the show, Jensen hinted that the record features a more mature sound. “One thing’s for sure, iba na siya, different attack,” bassist and vocalist Choi Padilla added.
The band was mum on other details, including the album’s much-awaited release date. But if “BDYTLK” is any indication of what to expect, we definitely can’t wait.
