Faculty members of the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts will hold an exhibition of their sculptural works which “explore the reinterpretation of figurative sculpture” on March 10.

The works of artists Roberto Feleo, Toym Imao, Paul Quiaño and Manolo Sicat “[revisit] the foundations of three-dimensional figuration as points for further creative exploration of the human form.” The four are teaching core and major courses in materials and techniques and sculptures.

The sculpture exhibit will run from March 10 to 27 at the Corredor, UP Fine Arts Gallery, Bartlett Hall. E. Jacinto St., UP Diliman. The opening is on March 10 at 6 p.m.

An exhibit of flat-pack or self-assembly furniture by Industrial Design faculty Tito de la Peña will run at the Foyer of the UP Fine Arts Gallery on the same dates. It will also open on March 10, 6 p.m.

“Flat-pack furniture design offers practical solutions for people in need of affordable and almost ready-to-use goods. Through digital design development and production, it can now be implemented more quickly and at significantly less cost, providing people with more economical options for home furnishing needs. Being easily transportable, these products can be efficiently deployed to communities in disaster-affected areas and other offsite places,” organizers said.
