Luxury resort Amorita in Bohol celebrated its 10th year tonight, Saturday, having won awards that were made more special by the fact that it is a home-grown brand.

The 5.5 hectare sprawl in Panglao received the Condé Nast Johansen Excellence Award 2017 for Best in Service, the only Philippine resort to win the prestigious award.

It is also an ASEAN Green Hotel Awardee in 2017, and a TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Hall of Awardee (for the past seven years), the highest for a Bohol resort.

This is a no mean feat for a couple who were newly married 10 years ago and who committed to a vision to create a destination resort in Bohol.

The resort has 62 suites, 20 de luxe rooms,
16 villas with plunge pools, some of them family villas.

It has become a popular destination for local tourists and foreign tourists, with the Americans comprising the biggest sector.

At the toasts given Saturday night before dinner hosted for its patrons and the media, the young couple Atty. Nikki and Ria Cauton shared most touching insights. Nikki is CEO, Ria is president.

“Ten years of Amorita is also 10 years of our marriage. It is like an answered prayer – now we have three children and 4 resort hotels here, in Palawan and Dumaguete,” said Ria.

Amorita has the Momo Beach Club in Panglao, the Funny Lion in Coron, Palawan, Sta. Monica in Dumaguete.
