My palangga, top publicist Joji Dingcong, has built a fabulous new home in booming Bacolod City, so it was imperative that I flew over to the Negros Occidental capital for the housewarming. The affair coincided with Joji’s birthday, naturellement.

The ultra-modern home, designed by architect Omon Maravilla, was bedecked with Joji’s extensive art collection.

Many of the guests were Joji’s friends from St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod from way, way back.

The buzz was that Derek Ramsey would be arriving. His loving parents, Medy and Derek Sr., were already at my table. When the star hunk finally did appear, the birthday boy went up his Louboutin-red lacquered stairs and the guests sang “Happy Birthday.”

The birthday lunch started right after Joji, clad in eye popping, cutout bonded black tunic revealing a Pop Art T-shirt inside for added chic, did the obligatory blowing of the birthday candles.

What followed was a sumptuous buffet lunch. Especially flown in for the feast were “Fifi L’Amour” bubbles.

An impromptu musical capped the trés successful celebration.

Bacolod foodie goddess Chole Cuenca Chua stood up to sing a Broadway tune. Quickly joining in were party asset Brenda Tenk, Ging Cuaycong in Parisian bleu shift, civic leader Ginnette Dumancas, Mia Lizares Gonzaga with hubby Bobby, Mia Jalandoni Legaspi and BB Legaspi, Ging Ibañez, Cristine Vargas, Jarie Jalandoni Yulo, plus other celebrity figures, dahlings.

Pastor Alexander played on the baby grand, while fashionable Nining Jacinto Tinsay quietly sidled up to Derek and gorgeous Lovi Poe, who was clad in spaghetti-strap silk midi tube.

Cheers to many more birthdays, “Angelina” Joji D!

Improved Pond’s

A decade ago, skincare basic rituals might have kept one’s skin clear and well-hydrated. But things have changed. There are more environmental hazards to one’s skin—pollution, harsher UV rays and more sources of stress so the basics are no longer enough.

“This is why the Pond’s Institute’s recent innovations revolve around developing and improving our formulas,” said Apples Aberin, Unilever head of public relations. “Pond’s wants to evolve with the modern-day Filipino woman. We want to show her that there is no need to be afraid of the ever-changing environment, because Pond’s is rising up to the challenge and changing with the times.”

Apples pointed to the “new and improved” formulations— Pond’s Acne Clear, Pond’s White Beauty and Pond’s Age Miracle.

At the forefront of skincare science and innovation since 1846, Pond’s shows why it is still a leader and a visionary when it comes to providing superior solutions for cleansing, antiaging and lightening.

“With the new and improved Pond’s Acne Clear, Pond’s White Beauty, and Pond’s Age Miracle ranges, the modern Filipino woman can feel confident, knowing that she has what she needs to face the beautiful changes in her life with beautiful skin,” Aberin said.
