The Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies (CCWLS) of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) will hold the round-table discussion, “Ustingan: Why Young Adult and Children’s Literature?” on March 29, 3-5 p.m., at the Tanghalang Teresita Quirino, G/F, Benavides Bldg., UST, España Blvd., Sampaloc, Manila.
USTingan is a series of forums of writers, teachers, students and lovers of literature, in which certain topics of contemporary interest— involving writing, publishing and popular culture—are discussed.
Speakers include Christine Bellen, who teaches at the Ateneo de Manila University, and is a multi-awarded playwright and author of “Batang Rizal at Iba Pang Dula” (Ateneo Press, 2016); Cyan Abad-Jugo, who also teaches at Ateneo, and is the author of “Sweet Summer and Other Stories,” “Salingkit: A 1986 Diary,” and a co-editor of “Friend Zones” (Ateneo Press, 2016); and Gabriela Lee, who teaches at the University of the Philippines, and is the author of “Instructions on How to Disappear” (Visprint, Inc., 2016).
