Adorable Allana Montelibano celebrated her 41st birthday at chef Jordy Navarra’s Toyo Eatery in Makati. What was planned as an intimate gathering turned into a bash as many of Allana’s friends showed up.

A variety of Filipino and Asian food was on the table, including lightly Poached Oysters with Pickled Cucumber and Basi, Smoked Tinapa, Homemade Buttermilk Loaf with Enoki Mushroom and Sour Cream, Crispy Shrimps, Crispy Tawilis, Uni Croquette, Toyo Eatery Three-Cut Pork BBQ, Karubi Beef, Mackerel in Kamias and Pork Korobuta.

Desserts were Dulce de Leche Bonbons and Hazelnut Truffle Polvoron.

On the drinks list were Japanese whiskeys Yamazaki and Hibiki, Chanel #5 signature cocktail and Chateau Bel Air.

Allana’s outfit was by Pepito Albert, naturellement. He was one of the guests serenaded by Kate Castillo with an accompanying violinist.

Good company and a great dinner menu spelled a fabulous night for our woman of the moment, Allana Montelibano, but of course, palangga.

Cheers, Dr. Carandang

Meanwhile, in-demand ophthalmologist Glenn Carandang marked his 40th birthday with a dinner at the popular Chinese restaurant Hai Shin Lou in Makati.

Among his well-wishers were architect-interior designer Jonathan Matti, banker and stock expert Andrew Gan, Frank Ordoñez, ABS-CBN’s Bibot Nolan, sugar magnate Alvaro Pertierra, realtor Freddie Olbes, Ipe Cruz, Cecile and Lorrie Reynoso, and Jackie Ejercito Lopez.

Other guests included Albright Carranza, Tippi and Trixie Tambunting, Mike Lazo, Mikhail de la Fuente and Franco Saycon.

We were all treated to a sumptuous meal that consisted of loads of dishes—from Peking Squid to Peking Duck.

And of course, there were copious amounts of Fifi l’Amour and Patron Tequila.

Animated conversation and yummy food made Dr. Carandang’s birthday truly memorable. Indeed, life begins at 40, dahlings.
