Tony Fernando, music enthusiast and businessman whose restaurant venture, The Smoking Joint, has moved to Green Sun in Makati, tells Inquirer Lifestyle that his dining place will hold “The Smoking Joint Session”—a live gig featuring Mon Espia on guitar and vocals; Wowee Posadas, keyboards; Ike Dyliaco, saxophone; Richie Ramos, bass; and Fernando himself on drums—on April 1, Saturday.
The restaurant—which dubs itself “low and slow barbecue from the south” with its specialty beef ribs and brisket best enjoyed with beer—will also have “Sunset Special 420 Hits” featuring DJ Abdel Aziz playing classic rock, pop, R&B, soul and dance records on March 30 and April 6 from 4:20 to 9 p.m.
Whenever time allows, Fernando plays drums with the band Electric Tuesdays, whose members include Espia, Posadas, bassist Bobby Taylo and South Border guitarist Janno Queyquep.
