Mark your calendars; the Scout Campus Tour makes a comeback this 2017 bigger, badder, and more fun than ever. This time though, the focus has changed.
The Scout Campus Tour is Scout Magazine’s year-long project where Scout visits various schools in the metro for an afternoon of activities. For the first leg, Scout heads back to University of the Philippines Diliman, this March 31 from 12 noon to 6 in the afternoon at the UP Diliman Sunken Garden.
There will be homegrown talents from the UP Music Circle: post-rock trio Hollowburn, and acoustic solo act Seresa and Alexia Sumilang. Finally, special musical guest Jensen and the Flips will close the afternoon.
For the ScoutxUP leg, there will be a live painting session promoting mental health awareness by the UP College of Fine Arts featuring artists Tammy de Roca, Gabby Prado, and Faye Louise Pamintuan.
There will also be a Students’ Gallery featuring their art, and the Scout x Proudrace “Trust” collection will also be showcased. There will also be an arts and crafts booth by Pioneer for visitors to tinker with, as well as a Scout Wall for visitors to leave their mark.
More than that, Scout gets down to the business with a couple of talks for the students. Pam Pastor of Inquirer SUPER will give a talk on writing, Laura Abejo of UP College of Fine Arts will give a talk on art therapy, and the Scout team will give a brief talk about what Scout is all about. Finally, Scout answers the student’s needs with a portfolio consultation all afternoon long by the Scout team itself. Walk-in internship applications to Scout will be accepted.
You ready, UP? Don’t worry about putting your wallet on life support because the whole event is for free. We gotchu, fam.
