There’s probably no better feeling than having an unobstructed view of the aurora borealis (Northern Lights), while tucked inside a comfortable bed with your special someone.
Now, thanks to the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in the region of Laplan, Finland, that dream could soon be turned into a reality.
At $455 a night (around P22,000), vacationers could enjoy the earth’s majestic natural light display while inside one of the resort’s unique glass igloos.
The quaint getaway, with its igloos covered in thermal glass, is located north of the Arctic Circle where temperatures can drop up to -40 degrees Fahrenheit, Thrillist reported.
Interested travelers may choose from multiple housing options—such as log cabins with glass dome porches, snow igloos, traditional houses, and the premier igloos with glass ceilings.
Each igloo can house two to four persons, while visitors also get access to the world’s largest smoke sauna, a glass igloo bar and restaurant.
The rooms will be made available starting August 20 until April of next year, the time when the Northern Lights are visible from the resort.
