Eager fans of Coldplay started arriving and standing in line in several columns as the gates opened as early at 5 p.m. for the British superstar band’s 8 p.m. concert at the Mall of Asia (MOA) open grounds in Pasay.

The fans, a mixed crowd of males and females in their 20s, 30s and 40s, looked calm. But many were smiling and visibly excited to watch Coldplay’s first ever live performance in the Philippines.

The concert, which has sold 35,000 tickets, is the biggest show to hit the country this year. /atm
