Odds are high, that on Tuesday afternoons, office workers on the United States East Coast with holidays on the horizon are using their lunch hour to look up hotel and airfare.

That’s according to a new report from online booking site Kayak.com, which analyzed user data to look at when and where travelers are conducting their travel research.

After looking at Kayak user patterns, data showed that the biggest spike in weekday traffic occurs during the lunch hour between 11 a.m. to noon, with Tuesdays seeing the highest amount of activity during the work week, perhaps due to the longstanding belief that Tuesdays offer the cheapest fares.

The biggest weekday lunch hour “offenders”? Residents living in cities like Richmond (Virginia), Washington D.C., New York, Chicago and New Orleans.

Cities that engage the least in this kind of escapist behavior tend to lie on the West Coast, such as Las Vegas, Sacramento, Seattle and Palm Springs.

Meanwhile, data also revealed that 66 percent of searches are conducted on desktop, most likely on work computers, and 34 percent are conducted on mobile devices.

For the report, Kayak looked at online activity between January and March, 2017. JB
