Filipina contestant Anjelica Santillan is the first to get the boot from “Asia’s Next Top Model” cycle 5.
In the show’s episode aired on Wednesday, Santillan got the lowest score during a photo shoot and challenge.
“And it’s out that I’m out! Ouch, that was fast,” the 22-year-old former volleyball player said in an Instagram post. “But let’s keep supporting Team Philippines.”
With Santillan’s early eviction from the show, only two Filipina models are on the run to be the next Asian top model: Instagram celebrity Jennica Sanchez and Filipina-German model Maureen Wroblewitz.
Previous Filipino hopefuls who made it close to the throne were Monika Sta. Maria, Julian Flores, Jodilly Pendre, Katarina Rodriguez and Stephanie Retuya.
The season, hosted by Thai-American model Cindy Bishop, also features Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach as a special guest judge. Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
