A fitness gym in the UK is offering a “siesta” class for exhausted workaholics who lack sleep.

David Lloyd Clubs is organizing a one-hour workout called “Nap-ercise,” a bizarre yet effective way to scale down stress, tiredness and even calories.

For the first 15-minutes of each session, participants engage in stretching drills before they take a 45-minute snooze under a suitable room temperature and with relaxing music. Beds, blankets, and even eye masks are provided by the gym.

“Napercise” came into light after a research concluded that 86 percent of parents suffer from fatigue, with 26 percent of them frequently having less than five hours of sleep every night, a press statement posted on the company’s website read, according to Huffington Post.

Dreams sleep expert Kathryn Pinkham, who collaborated with David Lloyd Clubs for the initiative, professed that the aim of “Napercise” is to reduce stress among people and promote “calorie burning” during sleep. “Sleep is a lot more important than people realize,” she expounded. “We tend to focus on the short-term effects such as being tired or lacking concentration, but it is also essential for our long-term physical and mental well-being too.”

The said mid-afternoon napping class began its trial sessions in its branch in Sidcup, London, and is expected to spread to the whole UK.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
