It’s no secret that the island province of Guimaras is home to the country’s sweetest mangoes. For a limited time, the small province is offering travelers a chance to devour all the delectable mangoes they can eat.
In celebration of the annual “Manggahan Festival,” locals from the Capitol grounds, Barangay San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, are inviting guests to take part in a massive “mango buffet.”
As seen on the Guimaras Manggahan Festival Facebook page, the “all-you-can-eat” promo starts on the opening day of May 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The fruit fest will then continue on May 15 to 22, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Each participant will have the choice between ripe and green mangoes, along with either ibus (sticky rice) or the classic bagoong (shrimp paste).
Furthermore, interested foodies will have to shell out P110 each, and will have 30 minutes to consume the mangoes.
Guimaras, meanwhile, has continued to be an agricultural haven in the country and has earned the nickname “Mango Capital of the Philippines.” Khristian Ibarrola /ra
