Grand occasion to let one’s hair down

Svenson director Robin Horseman and wife Sharon

Hair restoration clinic Svenson recently celebrated its 36th anniversary with an event attended by its brand ambassadors Allan Caidic, Chico Garcia, Gino Quillamor, Philip Cu-Unjieng, Issa Litton, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Ricci Chan and yours truly, dahlings.
With the theme “The Hairloss Authority,” Svenson marked another successful year and strengthened its thrust to offer a complete range of treatments for hair loss and other hair and scalp problems.

No matter what stage of hair loss, palangga, Svenson always has a solution for—from prevention to correction and restoration.

The affair also showcased Svenson’s Hair Transplant Procedure, its latest offering. Performed by experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons, the procedure safely and permanently gives one a full head of hair that looks natural. It offers complete pre- and posttransplant care.

“Originally established in London, Svenson opened in the Philippines in 1981, and pioneered in offering technologically advanced solutions to hair loss, changing the game in a market saturated with shampoos and over-the-counter topical medications,” said Svenson director Robin Horseman.

“Svenson is in a league of its own, as it is the only center that houses hair loss treatments, nonsurgical hair replacement systems, and hair transplants under one roof,” said Svenson Group president George Siy.

“Our team of qualified trichologists (hair and scalp experts) provides thorough assessment and correct diagnosis to allow Svenson to get to the root of your hair and scalp problems,” Siy added.

Beauty technology

“Don’t be afraid to be first,” Dr. Vicki Belo said, expressing support for Google’s #Womenwill campaign to raise awareness on women’s access to information and technology.

Belo was the first to bring laser technology to the beauty industry in the Philippines, which revolutionized cosmetic aesthetics. Starting with a small clinic in the 1990s, the Belo Medical Group grew to become the country’s foremost beauty clinic providing breakthroughs in surgical and nonsurgical beauty procedures such as liposuction, face tightening and body contouring.

Belo admitted that without access to technology, she would not have been able to achieve her company’s level of success. She said that access to technology helped pave the way to make her “dream of making the Philippines the most beautiful country a reality.”

She added that, back then, people were very negative and skeptical about using new technology. “They were saying laser will burn your face and Botox is putting poison in your face. But now, everybody’s doing what I’m doing.

She pointed out: “Women should not be discouraged with such pessimism, but instead be more bold and courageous to reach a certain level of competence or raise the bar for competence.”

Also present at Google Philippines’ #Womenwill campaign, held in celebration of International Women’s Day, were Miriam College’s Rosario Lapus, dating app Peekawoo’s Valenice Balace, and Thinking Machines’ Stephanie Sy.

He explained that his visit underscored how the brand continued to expand its footwear legacy of manufacturing quality and innovative shoes in what he called “a dream market… because the Philippines has everything it takes for businesses like us to be successful.”

Also with Nasard were Bata Asia-Pacific president Roberto Longo, chief finance officer Alberto Toni, chief personnel officer Davide Zornetta, and regional finance director for Asia, Africa and Latin America Shaibal Sinha.

The brand’s Spring/Summer collection was showcased in a party at The Palace Pool Club.
