Looking for a place to celebrate Father’s Day? Look no further than 22 Prime at Discovery Suites in Ortigas Center. Known for its sumptuous steaks, 22 Prime has created a menu to please even the most discerning dads.

The restaurant recently unveiled its Father’s Day menu in an exclusive tasting. It highlighted two offerings—22 Prime’s and the Father’s Day menu of Restaurant Verbena, another Discovery Group outlet located in Tagaytay.

For starters there was onion soup, which was tweaked by chef Gerwin Bailon for Father’s Day. Shaved steak and gratinated Gruyère cheese were added to make it “more palatable to dads,” Bailon said.

The entrée was Barbecue Short Ribs, which came with a baked potato side dish, shrimp, chives, broccoli and green peas. The ribs were tender, and the homemade barbecue sauce not too sweet, with a satisfying tang.

Dessert was the coffee-infused moist chocolate cake, which had an indulgent taste.

The three-course meal is available until June 18 and costs P1,750.

Restaurant Verbena

After that wonderful three-course meal came tasting portions of the dishes to be offered in Restaurant Verbena in Discovery Country Suites, Tagaytay.

First was the Scallop Linguine, pan-seared sea scallop with creamy basil pesto served with grilled brioche.

Next was the Harissa-Spiced Half Boneless Chicken—a spicy dish sure to please adventurous diners. The chicken dish was paired with aromatic rice pilaf, grilled vegetables and lemon butter sauce.

Our favorite was the last dish, Roasted New Zealand Lamb Chops, served medium rare.

It came with mushroom risotto cooked al dente, French beans, parmesan tomato and natural lamb jus.

Guests who are not fond of rare meats have the option of the lamb cooked to their specifications. —CONTRIBUTED
