Take the train, folks! Rock Ed Philippines is holding its seventh annual Rock the Riles on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2-7 p.m.

More than 80 performers will hold eight simultaneous concerts at eight MRT stations along Edsa. Just buy a ticket to the MRT and see your favorite bands live.

Rock the Riles is part of the celebration of International Human Rights Day, organized by Rock Ed Philippines, a nationwide volunteer group that promotes nation-building through the arts and alternative education.

Rock Ed founder Gang Badoy said the concert series is “our rally of sorts, when we decide to physically come together, pool our voices and say, ‘No more excuses, Philippines!’”

So choose a station, watch a gig, take a stand, and rock and roll! Here is a line-up of the musical acts:

Shaw Station: Rocking for Education. Paolo Santos, Silent Sanctuary, Peryodiko, Duster, Kala, Gracenote, Kai Honasan, and Playphonics.

Cubao Station: Rocking for Global Trade and Development. Noel Cabangon, Paramita, Hijo, Hilera, Turbo Goth, Camerawalls, FMD, Top Junk, Chongkeys, Ganhava, Alex in Wonderland, Miko Pepito, Faintlights, Allecia, Nityalila, OG Sacred, Midsummer, LTNS, and Toyo. Presented by Dakila.

Ayala Station: Rocking for the Environment. Radioactive Sago Project, UpDharmaDown, Encounters With A Yeti, Musical O, Sleepwalk Circus, Hidden Nikki, The Charmes, Not Another Boy Band, Dr.Strangeluv, and Acasha. Presented by Terno Recordings.

Taft Station: Rocking versus Hunger. Tanya Markova, Giniling Festival, Stonefree, Soapdish, Above Zero, Wika, Heavy Heavies, Hatankaru, AJKA, Soundvent, Eevee, Letter Day Story, Kaligta, Kilos, Circa, Not So Fast, Philia, and Ciudad Tribu.

Boni Station: Rocking for Gender Equality. Flippin’ Soul Stompers, Collie Herb, Good Leaf, Tarsius, The Go Signals, Fingertrap, Jeepney Joyride, The Strangeness, Nanay Mo, Tirso Cruise Three, FilterKeen, Kevin’s Express, and Big Band Groove.

Quezon Avenue Station: Rocking for Maternal Health, CinemAlexis Film Showing

Buendia Station: Rocking versus HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Preventable Diseases. Intolerant, Reklamo, Bad Burn, Odat, Trapeze, Penguin, Pull It Surprise, Sirens, Save Me Hollywood, Jejaview, Hatchobanko, Around the Metro, Lady Ransom, Jensen Gomez, Archievals, Harlequin Carnival, and Sleep.

North Avenue Station: Rocking for Children’s Health. Mayonnaise, Tonight We Sleep, Hansom, Subscapular, Sirens, Chris Cantanda, Shoulder State, Lights in Transit, Arcadia, PileDriver, Wilderness, and Twin Lobster. Presented by Mary Moon Productions.

Rocking Iloilo

Rock Ed Iloilo, meanwhile, is holding its fourth annual Rock the Riles on Saturday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m. onwards, at Lanai Bar & Grill, Tabuc Suba, Jaro.

Performers include The Liberty Jam, Pillbox, Godchild, Factory Overhead, Just Before Midnight, Dreadnaught, Diet of Wormz, Children’s Playground, Starlight, Days Before Downfall, U D Side and Breach of Fate.
