Supermodel Gisele Bündchen fights animal cruelty by wearing faux fur

Real fur is out, faux fur is in.

So says supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who posed for the cover of Vogue Paris.

The 36-year-old, who is one of the highest-paid models in the world, shared the magazine cover on her Instagram with the caption: “So happy that @vogueparis dedicated this issue to animal protection, sending a strong message that wearing real fur is never an option!! All great designers now do beautiful #fakefur.”

Advocating faux fur also goes within the pages of the magazine’s August 2017 issue:

The Brazilian beauty has long been championing “green” initiatives such as a reforestation project in her home country. She was also named the UN Environment Programme’s Goodwill Ambassador to the Environment in 2009.

The fashion industry now appears to be taking heed to calls for ethical practices alongside luxury. In the issue is an interview with fashion designer Stella McCartney, who has proven that high-end fashion is even better without leather or fur. The UK-based designer also uses renewable energy in stores and offices to ensure her brand’s operations are environmentally-friendly.  /ra
