Luxe yet casual table spreads from chef Sunshine Pengson

Sunshine Pengson’s spread

Chef Sunshine Puey Pengson has ventured into gracing tables. Her rustic yet elegant spread of cheeses, cured meats, mini sandwiches, finger foods and little desserts are masterfully styled and almost too pretty to eat.

According to Sunshine, hosts and hostesses want more entertaining options; what she offers is a casual yet still very luxe, fashionable way of feasting. The overall look of her projects can range from simple to extravagant. The service includes table setup and styling.

Since becoming a mother, Sunshine focused on activities that allow her to be with her children, but still with the liberty to express her craft. Apart from gracing tables, she has created a line of kitchen-related items such as kitchen towels, grocery bags and the like.

She has not given up her love for baking either. Yet another interesting creation of chef Sunshine is her candy celebration cake in an assortment of flavors. Among the most popular variants are the Nutella mud pie, chocolate raspberry and raspberry cheesecake.

The festive cake is decked with all sorts of chocolate candy. The color of the cake can be customized according to the client’s preference.

The cake makes a suitable treat for tween or teen celebrants.

Specialty food products

Harvest Circle is a distributor of meticulously prepared food products from handpicked artisans.

The company is in partnership with, as well as constantly in search of, local farmers and businesses that are in need of help to market their products.

Harvest Circle’s Pedrito Lim says a major criteria in the selection process is that the product has to be all-natural (no preservatives, no chemicals, no artificial ingredients used).
Raw ingredients have to be sourced locally, to align with Harvest Circle’s mission to support local produce and local farmers.

One of these products is milk from the Batangas Dairy Cooperative (Badaco). Badaco cows are fed 100 percent with grass imported from New Zealand.
Badaco Fresh Milk won first place at last year’s Ultimate Taste Test.

Harvest Circle has likewise started to sell bread, a wide assortment of gourmet sausages and breakfast meats that are free as well from harmful preservatives. The breads are baked fresh to order, with only premium ingredients. No butter substitutes and preservatives are used, hence the bread must be consumed within three days.

Harvest Circle’s milks, smoked beef bacon cheese sausage and bacon slab have been getting rave reviews as well.
