Frida Kahlo inspires British India

A stylish woman who makes choices that are no one else’s but her own—that is the woman British India had in mind in creating its latest collection.

Inspired by the icon of art and style, Frida Kahlo, the collection is a nod to the nonconformist, with florals in all shapes and forms, bold eye-catching prints, vibrant blues and oranges that can be layered and worn together.

Contrasting colors and prints can be paired, like a blue printed polyester and viscose blouse with extended sleeves with an icy gray maxi skirt with multicolor embroidery at the hem, or an orange and blue printed viscose blouse with extended sleeves with an orange-and-aqua-print maxi skirt.

Oversized or shoulder-grazing statement earrings and beaded accessories cap the look.

There’s also a fully printed long-sleeve blouse and fiery red printed mermaid skirt, layered with a brown ¾ viscose cover-up with gold and silver embroidery at the shoulders and fringed hem, or a turquoise printed cotton tunic and blue mermaid skirt with lilac floral embroidery, layered with a brown and peach printed button-down (style tip: roll up the sleeves for a splash of coordinating color on your arms). Finish off with the floral crown and thick brows of British India’s current style muse.

As Kahlo would say, “You deserve the best, the very best, because you are one of the few people in this lousy world who are honest to themselves, and that is the only thing that really counts.”

British India is exclusively distributed by Cinderella Marketing Corp., and is available at Glorietta 3, Shangri-La Plaza Mall and Alabang Town Center.
