Bench returns to New York Fashion Week–where no local brand has gone

Celebrating its third decade in fashion retail industry this year, Bench takes on the world as it continues to bring local talent and design to the global stage.

On July 13, Bench Body, led by the brand’s head Ben Chan, returned to New York Fashion Week: Men’s to present its latest collection on its own.

The spotlight is on the local retail giant as it presents summer-ready styles of underwear and swimwear, with an impressive lineup of 30 models.

This time last year, the Philippines’ leading clothing and lifestyle brand, Bench, turned up in New York Fashion Week: Men’s to present a 27-piece Spring/Summer 2017 collection  in collaboration with New York-based brand and CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, Cadet.

Armed with its stronger-than-ever #LoveLocal advocacy, Bench represented the Philippines in one of the world’s fashion capitals, and raised the Filipino flag in a place no other local retail brand has gone.

The show started at 5 p.m. (NY time), at Studio Ten of Industria Studios NYC, a big sprawl and a favorite venue for fashion shows, curated trade events, and photo shoots in the heart of the Meatpacking district.

For Spring/Summer 2018, the growing intimate apparel brand is all about going bold in more ways than one.
Through its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2018 Collection, Bench Body has pieces that merge collegiate cool with a sultry, summer state of mind.

It’s all about botanical prints and brilliant hues, which all come together to create looks that complement the season’s adventures and overall aesthetic.

The presentation was directed by Ariel Lozada and styled by Manifesto Magazine’s publisher and fashion director Jonathan Yee.

With its 30th birthday less than a month away, Bench has more surprises up its sleeve. Bench’s social media platforms will carry updates.
