Scones and songs at Bianca Zobel’s bridal shower

Bianca Zobel, daughter of Iñigo and Maricris Zobel, will marry Chris Warns on Jan. 6, 2012, in a much-anticipated wedding that will begin the year.

In the meantime, about 15 of her closest friends feted the bride-to-be at an afternoon shower with a high tea theme, with bed and bath presents, at Rustan’s Makati last November 17.

Guests nibbled on savories, delectable sweets like rosewater scones with blueberry jam, and petit sandwiches served on tiered tea trays, and sipped Earl Grey tea, Lavazza coffee and peach iced tea, all by Bizu.

Bianca, who wore a feminine, lacy tiered dress and was made up by Steven Doloso, was the subject of some fun and games among her friends, in a program hosted by Rustan’s Erik Hannikainen.

Among the questions fielded to check how well her friends knew the bride: what are Bianca’s favorite place (Calatagan), cologne (Royal Ambré), lip balm (Lucas Papaw), place abroad (Sotogrande, Spain) and snack (mangga at bagoong).

The ladies also had a field day playing “Name that Tune” with Bianca’s favorite songs—among them, Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” and Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable.”

Groom-to-be Chris Warns dropped by unexpectedly at the end of the shower, despite having his arm in a sling, truly making Bianca’s day.
