Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm—all favorites of home and décor shoppers—mounted the Sips x Social “shopping soirée” at the Pottery Barm flagship store at Central Square in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and at the West Elm store at Estancia in Capitol Commons, Pasig.
Linda Ley and Yoli Ayson welcomed guests for an afternoon of shopping. Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit Angels to Street Kids Foundation, “which organizes feeding programs for underprivileged children in depressed areas within Metro Manila,” Linda said.
Guests also gathered for the much anticipated styling activity while enjoying flowing wine and delicious snack treats, dahlings.
Five teams participated and judges were Philippine Tatler editor Mia Borromeo and designer Ito Curata.
Winning duo was Pinky Antonio and Janice de Belen who went for a high tea-table setting. John Paras and Ofie Wadle opted for a formal table setup; Len Olbes and Candy Huang chose a beach motif; Suzette Lopez and Mayenne Carmona welcomed the outdoors with a patio/picnic theme; and Tanya Peralta Yu and Jen Chan showed a more playful vibe through a kiddie setting.
Adding to the festivity was a raffle draw; the prize went to PJ Javier.
Pottery Barn and West Elm are exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc.
Birthday bash
Society photographer Alex Van Hagen was feted on his birthday with a heavy afternoon menu bash at the North Forbes Park Pavilion in Makati.
Hosting the get-together, dahlings, were the usual suspects: Mellie Ablaza, Nene Leonor, Linda Ley, Yoly Ayson, Mimi Valerio, Agile Zamora, Connie Haw, Duday Tuason and Elaine Villar.
It was a celebration of life, full of fun and tons of gossip about—ooops, my lips are sealed.
Yummy menu consisted of pan de sal with kesong puti, Iberian chicken, pancit luglog, lumpiang pritong ubod, pitchi-pitchi and caramel cake catered by The Plaza of Millie Reyes.
Millie also gifted Alex with her delicious mini halo-halo for dessert. And from the kitchen of Nene Leonor, there was beef with mushroom, fruit salad and Russian salad.
The afternoon affair lasted way beyond the schedule with several women staying behind comparing their bling-blings. Like the saying goes, “Money screams, wealth whispers.”
Happy, happy birthday, palangga Alex! May you be continued to be blessed with good health!
