Fresh flower arrangements are always a first choice, but they can be quite costly. After a few days, signs of wilting start to show, and there goes your money. An equally pretty, more durable alternative is hardy succulents and cacti arranged in an open, dry terrarium. They hardly need any watering and sun, yet have such interesting varieties. If you can’t bring yourself to care for living ones, artificial ones will do nicely, are made very well and are easy to find.
You will need:
1 large-mouthed glass vase
Pebbles and packs of moss (from Landmark)
Artificial succulents from Landmark
We started out with moss so it cushions the glass while pouring in the pebbles, then another layer of moss, then finished off with the remaining pebbles.
For this, we used eight packs of pebbles and three packs of moss.
Insert stems of succulents into the pebbles and moss (no floral foam will be needed).
