A more expansive search for the ideal millennial Chinese-Filipinos took place this year as the Mister and Miss Chinatown pageant opened its doors to aspirants in the cities of Dagupan, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.
Chinoy TV, a pillar in the Chinese-Filipino trade circle, felt that it was ready to take the competition to the next level and conducted screenings in the other Chinatown districts in the country, other than in Binondo, Manila.
Together with the Miss Chinatown Foundation, Chinoy TV presented the 15 male and 15 female contenders for the twin titles at Solaire Resort and Casino’s Eclipse Bar in Parañaque City recently.
Taking the theme “New Dynasty,” the twin contests hope to highlight a redefined image of the Chinese-Filipino where traditional values blend perfectly with progressive contemporary beliefs.
The 2017 Mister and Miss Chinatown grand coronation night will be staged at The Theatre at Solaire Resorts and Casino in Parañaque City on Sept. 1.
It will be telecast on ABS-CBN on Sept. 10.
