The school’s Central Student Government (CSG) created a legacy project that aims to fund the education of deserving but financially challenged students in SBCA for school year 2018-2019.
The project is called “Lacuna.” Defined as a blank space or gap, it’s a word that senior high school students can relate to, since senior year is about that “gap” —the transition from high school to college, a gap that will be filled with memories and lessons to be cherished for a lifetime.
CSG secretary Jillian Roxas said the project was a way of giving back to the school that has always been supportive of its students. The fundraising project was also a tie-up with the Senior High School Dance, making it a win-win situation for everyone involved.
Hawaiian-themed event
Held on Aug. 18 at the SBCA football field, the Hawaiian-themed event started late afternoon with DJs Erick Vispo and Luis Yatco spinning catchy dance mixes. Other DJs like MK Thompson and John Sedano also manned the turntables with sets that kept revelers’ spirits up.
The event’s main attraction, indie pop-R&B band Jensen and The Flips, drew loud applause.
Nothing stopped the students from supporting a worthy cause—not even inclement weather. From the blazing hot afternoon to the downpour later in the evening, the seniors danced and cheered their hearts out.
Consider it the first of countless good memories to fill the gap between high school and college.
