For its spring-summer 2017 makeup collection, Kate Tokyo focuses on the eyes. After last season’s dark, glowing and sexy looks, the trend now is glamorous eyes with dark, metallic shine.
To get that coveted gleam, the brand first experimented with different types of shimmers and glitters. The result is Kate Metal Glamour Eyes, an eyeshadow compact with subtle shimmer for that darkly metallic look.
There are six compacts now available (each priced at P840): Mauve pink, Bordeaux red, Silver blue, Ash brown, Bronze brown and Grayish brown.
Kate Tokyo has also come out with a precision eyeliner in pen format. The Kate Super Sharp Liner Ex (P660) has a stylish faceted design that allows for a steadier grip. Its super fine brush was developed jointly with Pentel.
The liner’s lustrous black ink is smudge-resistant but comes off easily with warm water. The easy to use, ultra-fine brush can be used to draw lashes to make eyes look wider and larger.
To complete the look, the Kate Glamorous Lash (P840) is a volumizing mascara with two brushes on opposite ends. A single stroke from the curved brush delivers strong color while the bluish gray color of the second smaller brush makes the mascara even darker. Short fibers add more volume.
Later this month, the brand will launch The Base Zero, which consists of foundation in liquid and powder forms, and CC Cream. The foundations come in six shades for light and clear skin to tanned skin while the CC Cream in a universally pleasing pink beige cream.
Kate Tokyo is at selected SM Department Stores, Watsons, Landmark Makati and Trinoma, and Metro Gaisano at UP Town Center and Cebu. – RJCK
