As the trend for pastel hues seems to be enjoying its final days, stronger and darker colors look set to find their way back into home interiors. Burgundy red proved particularly popular at the recent Maison & Objet interior design and decoration trade show in Paris, France, with dark red hues spotted in a host of new collections from designers and brands.
On a roll
Ferm Living brings a ripple of rolls to its footstools for a sophisticated addition to home interiors.
From rugs to flower planters
Danish design brand Woud has various new creations finished in burgundy shades, including a chair, a carpet and a planter.
Outdoor
Outdoor spaces haven’t escaped the burgundy trend, with dark red shades taking center stage in Fermob’s new “Bellevie” collection and the “Cocoon” set from Lafuma.
Leather, velvet, marble
Burgundy brings a stylish finishing touch to all kinds of materials. Aytm uses rich red shades on leather with the “Motum” cushion, on velvet with the “Angui” bench, and on marble with the “Closer” coffee table.
Smooth curves
The Bolia brand brings burgundy to furniture designs with smooth curves, like the “Grace” and “Between” couches. A maroon touch also finishes the shaft of the “Tellina” mirror.
Winter’s star shade is also seen on a room divider from Dante Goods for Bads and a candy jar from Louise Roe. JB
