Illustrator and concept artist Fernanda Suarez uploaded a series of photos on Instagram featuring Disney princesses clad in modern clothes.
These reimagined princesses have been transported to the 21st century and drawn with modern fashion trends in mind.
Snow White was the first to get a makeover. Her new image showed a blue top with exposed shoulders. Her hair ribbon has been replaced by a simple red headband. Her lips remain as rosy red as the fairy tale described.
“Beauty and the Beast’s” Belle was transformed into a leather jacket-wearing beauty. She has stylishly messy long brown hair. Belle also retained her love for books.
Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” sported a see-through top and strapless undergarment closely resembling the two seashells she wore in the movie. Her hair remains unbound, reflecting her adventurous spirit.
“Aladdin’s” Princess Jasmine turned out to be an exotic beauty. Few changes can be noticed from her appearance as she still favored wearing an off-shoulder top. On the other hand, she swapped out the tiger with a tamer house cat.
Mulan has a somewhat edgier look with a big red dragon print on her shirt. She also has multiple ear piercings and wears several golden necklaces.
Pocahontas retained most of her Native American fashion sense. She exuded earthiness in her skin-toned Venus-cut top, and wore a big blue gemstone as her main accessory. Noticeably, she bore what looks like red triangular tattoos on her right arm.
Finally, there’s Cinderella, a blonde beauty wearing a blue off-shoulder top with a matching choker. She has her hair loosely tied up to a bun. She’s also holding a kind of notebook with the image of a crystal slipper in front. JB
