In “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” secret agent Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton) must track down the psychopathic villain Poppy (Julianne Moore), who’s plotting to take over the world and legalize her drug business.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” is based on the acclaimed comic book of the same name created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. It is the sequel to the 2014 film “Kingsman: The Secret Service.”

Bringing the action in full force, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” brings new surprises as the secret agents try to stop an elusive villain. The film stars Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Moore, Halle Berry and Elton John.

The first blockbuster “Kingsman” introduced the world to a story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid Eggsy into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.

Vaughn and Millar conceived the concept for what would finally become Kingsman during the set of “Kick-Ass.” But it took a few years before Millar began writing the graphic novel, which was released in February 2012.

“Vaughn and I agreed we wanted to explore the origins of an elite spy, but focus on an unlikely candidate,” says Millar. —CONTRIBUTED
