In response to the constantly rising selfie phenomenon today, Global technology company Vivo produced another selfie-centric smartphone sporting an even more impressive front camera specification than its flagship phone in 2016 (the V5).
The Vivo V7+, launched on September 20, 2017 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, boasts a 24-megapixel front camera lens with an aperture of f/2.0 and the world’s first selfie camera to have a LED flash. It’s also the first-ever smartphone with a 5.99-inch all-screen display to hit the mid-range market scene.
These among many others are just some of the ground-breaking features incorporated in the newly released device dubbed as Vivo’s pride.
Stronger selfie game
During the grand launch, it was unveiled that the V7+ comes in a slimmer bezel design and a 5.99-inch all-screen display with an 84.4% screen-to-body ratio. This revolutionary screen display size alone makes the lightweight device a superior selfie shooter. But what sets it far apart from its competitors in the mid-range market are the Face Beauty 7.0 and the smart photography algorithms, which are developed to provide the right amount of brightness, contrast, and sharpness for selfies, and video calls, taken in both well- and dimly-lit environments. This will definitely make the selfie gaming strong for any selfie lover.
The V7+ also offers 16 modes of photography, one of which is the Portrait Mode, which allows smartphone users to enjoy selfies with bokeh effect (blurred background that originally can only be achieved by using a DSLR). And another is the Group Selfie Mode, which functions like a panorama.
Innovative
But apart from its industry-leading front camera, the V7+ offers more with its 16-megapixel rear camera; Smart Split 3.0, a feature that enable users to run multiple apps in split-screen mode; Face ID Access, a security function that unlocks the phone through face recognition in 0.1 second; Hi-Fi (High Fidelity) audio, a must-experience for music lovers; and Fingerprint Sensor, another security function that unlocks the phone through fingerprint recognition in 0.2 seconds.
Users may enjoy the V7+ up to 24 hours, thanks to its long-lasting 3225 mAh battery, but heavy usage on mobile gaming and video streaming will shrink the battery life to 14 hours.
The V7+ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, a 4GB RAM, and an Android Nougat 7.1 (Funtouch OS 3.2); and it comes with a 64GB ROM expandable up to 256GB. At P17,990, it is available in Champagne Gold and Matte Black.

The V7+ launch was attended by numerous esteemed personalities in the technology, entertainment, and media industry, and among them were official brand ambassadors Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, Loisa Andalio, Andrea Brillantes, Kira Balinger, Boyband PH, Sassa Dagdag, Kisses Delavin, McCoy de Leon, Jason Dy, Maymay Entrata, Darren Espanto, Barbie Forteza, Chienna Filomino, Tony Labrusca, TJ Monterde, Iñigo Pascual, Mariz Racal, Sue Ramirez, Ashley Rivera, Paul Salas, Julie Anne San Jose, and KZ Tandingan.
