I’m quite skeptic of trying new products, but lately I’ve been testing Bed Head’s Resurrection. It’s part of the Urban Anti-dote line, which has two other lines of shampoos and conditioners, formulated for very specific hair situations, depending on the damage level.
I specifically tried Level 3, aptly named Resurrection: “Perfect for weak, brittle hair that needs an intervention,” it says on its signature bright red packaging.
When it was introduced to me at TIGI’s product launch, the stylist at Basement Salon, Rockwell, lathered my hair with Bed Head’s Resurrection shampoo, followed by the conditioner.
It was quite a nice treat, a quick pick-me-up, with its refreshing fruity scent (which I later discovered was called Papaya Chill Pill). The stylist then proceeded to blow-dry my hair, to which I surprisingly saw sections of my mane bouncing back to life, incredibly glossy and smooth.
Healthy hair
It looked very healthy to my eyes, but was it, really?
Resurrection has key ingredients that, aside from cleansing and conditioning, help thicken the hair, preventing its color from fading, smoothening the cuticle.
It has anti-static and shine properties. It also has thermal protection that makes one’s hair humidity-proof and protects hair from other styling agents.
I would later on find out that the shampoo and conditioner don’t contain silicon, which normal shampoos and conditioners have. Silicon gives the illusion of soft hair.
Meanwhile, Bed Head Resurrection has micro shields that internally soften your locks—it has no artificial conditioning—so the more you use it, the more you can reinforce the healthy benefits of your hair.
I waited for another day to wait it out and I did the shampoo and conditioner routine at home. I did not have the luxury of blow-drying my hair, since I was constrained by time, so I air-dried it instead.
Surprisingly the treatment yielded the same glossy, smooth and healthy-looking hair finish I had when I first tried it in the salon.
I have been using it for a month now; I’m happy to report my grooming routine is now a quick, wash and air-dry affair.
Style shots
Although I’ve achieved the normal radiance of my hair, I’ve realized in a month or so I will be going back to my unhealthy ways of compulsive hair-styling.
It’s inevitable for most of us to continuously style our locks, especially with the catchy hair trends available to us.
Bed Head, according to TIGI’s group product manager Pam Joaquin, has come up with “intelligent” solutions through its Styleshots collection of shampoo and conditioners.
“I like to call it intelligent products, because it gives you something extra,” Joaquin said.
“It doesn’t act only as a hair and shampoo, but also acts like a treatment because it reinforces the total well-being of the hair.”
Packed with style-specific amplifiers, Styleshots series uses style-boosting and locking technologies, creating a perfect hairdo that will last until the next day.
“The shampoo and conditioner act like a primer, so for the makeup primer, they set your skin for the uneven makeup, or to make it last longer, on your face,” said Joaquin.
You can choose from Epic Volume, Hi-Def Curls and Extreme Straight. Imagine having that gorgeous volume or curls even after the party.
