The Philippines’ bet to this year’s Miss International beauty pageant has failed to make a back to back win for the country.

Mariel de Leon failed to enter the Top 15 during the coronation ceremony being held in Tokyo, Japan.

Those who made the cut were the candidates from Venezuela, Ghana, Thailand, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Japan, Curacao, Honduras, Ecuador, Finland, Laos, Indonesia, Australia, Panama and South Africa.

Kylie Verzosa, the current title-holder, also of the Philippines, will crown her successor tonight.

De Leon is the daughter of Filipino actors Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong.
