MANILA, Philippines – Midas Hotel and Casino officially embraced the season blooming of joy and giving as it marks the hotel’s 5th year in celebrating the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. The Midas holiday tree is adorned with unruffled white, silver, and brisk red accents of Christmas trinkets and ornaments that radiate happiness, love and compassion. The “Candyland” themed ginger bread houses and Christmas train packed full of Yuletide savories also reckon the astounding spirit of the holidays.
Some of the industry’s finest personalities including corporate executives, media partners, and online influencers graced the event with a celebratory toast led by Ms. Lily Santos-Adrid (General Manager of Midas Hotel and Casino), Mr. Gonzalo “Gunn” Roque III (Owner & CEO of Kamiseta, M&Co., and Vanilla Cupcake), Ms. Patty Chiong (Executive Vice President of Philippine Travel Agencies Association), and Ms. Hannah Jane Sancho (Representative of Sonshine Philippines Movement). The majestic 18-foot tree glimmers with the display of lights, music, and good cheer while the Ramon Magsaysay chorale serenades the guests with classic familiar carols and well-loved Christmas melodies.
Midas also continues to acknowledge the passion and competence of Filipino talents with the opening act of the Sonshine Philippines Movement flash mob performers and an excerpt of Ballet Philippines’ “The Nutcracker” featuring captivating performances by the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Nutcracker Prince. But more than the fabulous decors and festivities, Midas carries on its thrust in giving light to the very meaning of the celebration. For this year, the hotel dedicates its “Merry Midas” Christmas in supporting the noble campaign of an environmental advocacy group Sonshine Philippines Movement in its fight against climate change through sustainable restoration of the environment and advocating social responsibility. Thus for every room booked at Midas from December 2017 to January 2018, Php100 goes to this gracious drive. Indeed, the celebration enlivens Ms. Adrid’s welcoming words, as to quote, “Midas Christmas is about sharing and giving a part of ourselves to other people, and to those that needed our love, care and affection.”
