The most wonderful time of the year is finally here! Christmas is the season of giving back and sharing the blessings we’ve received with others. It is that time when we get together with our loved ones and celebrate every good thing that happened in the past year of our lives, and when we spread that joy to others.
Throughout December, Globe Telecom created new, wonderful holiday traditions that seek to spread a little more holiday cheer around the country. During the first week of the month, the company partnered with Philippine Airlines, the Manila International Airport Authority, and Duty Free to surprise arriving OFWs at NAIA terminal 2 with a Christmas package. A video of the surprise posted in INQUIRER.net’s Facebook page immediately became viral, with many people commenting that it was a lovely and well-deserved surprise for our hardworking OFWs. You can see that video below:

Some local travelers also received a Christmas surprise from Globe MyBusiness, who partnered with the Bicol Isarog Transport System last December 17. The passengers were asked what gift they wanted to receive or to give their families this holiday when they got on the bus. Upon arriving in Cubao, Globe MyBusiness and Bicol Isarog representatives were present bearing the gifts that the passengers wished for.

The company also didn’t forget to bring the holiday cheer to their own employees. To heighten the Christmas spirit, their normal elevator rides were transformed into a ‘Ka-Globe Elevator Karaoke’ in their headquarters in BGC. With the help of actress Kiray Celis, Globe employees were surprised with a lively sing-along performance of Christmas songs in the elevator. What seemed like an ordinary elevator ride in the office became a fun and memorable experience that definitely brightened up their day.
These fun and heart-warming surprises surely made a difference in the day of the people who received them. And at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if the gesture is as grand as surprising OFWs in the airport or as simple as making people laugh in the elevator. What matters most is that we are able to leave a positive impact on others and that we are able to remind them that yes, this is the most wonderful time of the year indeed. INQUIRER.net/PAR
