You’ve put away all the glitter of the holidays and want to get into 2018 just as brightly without spending more. Your leftover gift wrappers and an old tray can do the trick. New year, new life!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Serving tray Gift wrapper Scissors Ruler or measuring tape Double-sided tape

Procedure

1. Measure the inner space of your tray with a ruler or measuring tray.

2. Cut the wrapper according to measurements.

3. Affix the paper smoothly to the bottom of the tray using double-sided tape.

Tip: You can cut your wrappers to size in advance and change them when they get soiled—just like disposable placemats.
