A design project launched in London on Valentine’s Day day is placing large, inflatable red hearts in a variety of locations around the city over the next week.

“Chubby Hearts” is a design project by British fashion designer Anya Hindmarch and, in addition to being timed to launch on Valentine’s Day, it is conceived as a celebration of London Fashion Week.

Through Feb. 20, these giant Chubby Heart balloons will be suspended over, or squeezed into, London landmarks and other prominent locations across the city.

Called “a love letter to London,” the project launched on Wednesday at Battersea Power Station, where a heart was flown between the iconic chimneys, echoing Pink Floyd’s famous “Animals” album cover, on which an inflatable pig flies between the same chimneys.

As the week progresses, the helium-filled hearts will disappear each evening, then pop up in new locations the following day, their whereabouts easily trackable thanks to a detailed schedule at chubbyhearts.com.

The extremely Instagram-friendly project can also be followed on Instagram using the hashtag #CHUBBYhearts. JB
