Switch up your switch plates

Washi tape is inexpensive and easily available.

If you’d like to liven up those boring plain white switch plates on your walls, or maybe match them with what’s going on in that room, then the washi tape is your savior.

There are thousands of washi tape designs and sizes available, such that you’ll probably go crazy deciding which you like best.

You will need:
Switch plate
Washi tapes
Scissors
Measuring tape or ruler (optional)

Start by cutting your washi tape to the size you want.

Tape it on the switch plate according to the design or pattern you want.

Make sure you press the tape on fully so it properly adheres on to the plate, avoiding the hole for the actual switch.

It is best to have the tape go on over the sides and to the bottom of the plate to make sure it doesn’t peel off easily.

Voila! A new and prettied-up switch plate!

Tip: Because washi tapes are inexpensive and readily available, you can dress up your switch plates as often as you want.

Tape in the back so it doesn’t peel off easily.
Press tape down well, and evenly. Use a ruler if necessary.
You can change the tape and appearance any time.
Don’t forget to cut the hole for the actual switch.
